• Placement is exclusively for nannies and newborn specialists who have graduated from our programs and have demonstrated commitment to the profession
• Our personalized placement process targets a superb match between families and nannies

HOST FAMILIES

Alexandria School's host family opportunties are available to families in our area.  Our student nannies live with host families during the school term and provide regular child care in exchange for room, board and the family's invaluable education and evaluation.

Host family guidelines:

• At least one child under the age of 4 or multiple children with at least one child under the age of 10
• Live within 20 minutes of our school
• Successfully complete our registration, interview and background screening
• Evaluate our students' ongoing experiences

In exchange, student nannies provide 16 hours of in-home child care per week for the bulk of the school term.

PRACTICUM FAMILIES

Alexandria School's practicum family opportunties are available to families in our area.  Our student nannies and newborn specialists provide live-out child care as they gain invaluable first-hand experience.

Practicum family guidelines:

• At least one child under the age of 4 or multiple children with at least one child under the age of 10
• Live within 20 minutes of our school 
• Successfully complete our registration, interview and background screening
• Evaluate our students' ongoing experiences

In exchange, student nannies provide 8 hours of in-home child care per week for the bulk of the school term.
A student newborn specialist provides 12 hours of consecutive in-home newborn assistance; it may be possible to line up multiple students.
